Most of the time, Canadian actress Sarah Gadon leads a jet-set lifestyle, flying from international film festivals to far-flung movie locations to adventurous vacation destinations. But she also knows what helps keep her feet on the ground. “My family and my husband are really important,” she tells Hello! Canada. “I love living in Toronto. Every time I leave and go somewhere to shoot – and it’s a surreal whirlwind experience – it’s very grounding for me to come back to a place where I have a history and where I have people who hold me accountable to that history and who I am.”

Sarah, 36, lives in a quiet, leafy neighbourhood with her husband, industrial designer Max Fine, not that far away from her parents, Michael and Linda, whom she credits with her success. “I was active, curious and creative as a child and my parents nurtured that,” the actress told Canadian fashion journalist Jeanne Beker. “I was never allowed to miss a lot of school. And they insisted that I go to university. It really wasn’t until I was an adult that they gave me their blessing to go and be a full-time actor.”
