When you want to start specimen angling, there are so many things people “think” they need, but in Byron Fourie’s opinion it is more a “want”. Find out you what you really need to start specimen carp angling.
Another very interesting article is how to use wind to catch carp. And, summer fishing for Brandon Frazer mostly consists of particle fishing, so he loves fishing tiger-nuts or maize glugged in some flavours.
One of the joys of targeting carp on the fly is that they occur in almost every major water body across the country and are easily accessible to all.
Learn how to “dip” and “call” one of our biggest and most powerful fish found in our local water all across our country – the sharp toot catfish.
Daar is talle hengelkompetisies wat elke jaar by Loskopdam gehou word waarvan die meeste fokus op karp, baber, kurper, moddervis en swartbaars. Lees hoe hierdie spesies met kunsaas gevang kan word.
The whitefish is a strong and challenging indigenous fish to catch on fly, as those lucky anglers that have caught one will testify. Read how it is done.
For the more adventurous anglers we have an article on cob fever in Angola and further from home; Bertrand shares with our readers how he targeted snake heads in south-east China.
Daar is nog verskeie ander artikels – sien gerus ons inhoudsopgawe vir meer inligting. Lekker lees.
VisKoors Magazine Description:
VisKoors, which is editorially and financially independent, is a bi-monthly magazine catering for all angling facets in Southern Africa. It is designed as a specialist fishing magazine and it enjoys the support and endorsement of non-government organisations, but is not affiliated in any way to these bodies or to any other publishing, environmental or political interest group.
Our mission is to promote angling as a socially acceptable and popular outdoor recreational activity, and in addition, to encourage acceptable angling ethics. As such, VisKoors provides pertinent information on a wide range of subjects. These include providing a platform for informed debate on issues affecting the sport of angling, providing information on angling strategies and techniques, angling waters and opportunities, and also creating awareness of new products.
Within this editorial mix, due consideration is given to developing the sport among all the country's people (including the youth), and to the practical conservation of the country's natural resources.
VisKoors is distributed country-wide by R.N.A. to outlets, not only in South Africa, but also in Namibia, Swaziland and Botswana.
