“Nature always strives towards perfection”, said the great Greek philosopher Aristotle. In other words Nature always endeavours to create picture-perfect things. The mountain, valley, river, sea, bird, animal and human are all flawless entities made by the Nature. As created by Nature, a complete coherency and coordination is seen among the integral components of such creation. Inspired by the natural coherency, innovators or creators seek to achieve such perfection in their works. I am very excited to present the three projects we feature in this issue are the ones most recently awarded the ARCASIA Award for Architecture 2017 for best designed Single Family Residence in Asia, and for this time's cover story we have the house K-Lagoon at Alibaug designed by a creative genius & the 'Man of Nature' Architect Kamal Malik & his team of Malik Architecture. And the second one is B B Home, Vietnam, designed by young, intelligent & creative architects Doan Thanh Ha and Tran Ngoc Puong of H & P Architects by bringing their sensibilities to the site coupled with the architectural skills, the design vocabulary speaks eloquently and the result is simply amazing. We also bring the excerpts from the warming conversation with the Architects, whose style of designing is often admired, discussed and commented upon. And the third one is Mug Hakdong, South Korea, designed by Hyunjoon Yoo Architects for best designed Public Amenity Buildings – Resort category in Asia. More than 37 national & international awards speak all about the unparalleled repute of Prof. Ar. Hyunjoon Yoo. While designing apartments, architects have their wings clipped, so to speak, they are able to overcome constraints and reconfigure spaces to create their own landscapes within. In a sprawling housing complex at New Town, Kolkata, Ar. Sunil Maniramka of Maniramka & Associates has integrated architecture with the natural green landscapes and surrounding keeping the total built environment in mind.
