“Chalk it up to a week of steady downpour.” Henry Black closed his umbrella and placed it in a stand. “It's enough to turn even Santa rogue.”

The guard manning the lobby security desk had a video already queued up. “Not just one Santa. Five. They came in and left together.”

“Count again,” Renee said. “At 12:28, five Santas entered. But at 4:17, six Santas left.”

“Well, I'll be.” The guard’s eyes went wide. “Where'd that extra Santa come from?”

Dr. Angela Tyler ushered Renee and Henry into the office of her pediatric practice. “That Santa had no business being here. It wasn’t even our party.”

“Whose was it?”

“Sal Minelli, the CPA down the hall.”
