However it was hard work at times against a side two levels lower who were making their first ever appearance at this stage of the competition.

Taunton manager Richard Luffman said: “Amersham worked their socks off and were a nuisance to us today so huge credit to them.

“I think we were a bit off it, but we improved in the second half and on the balance of play we deserved to progress so now looking forward to Monday’s draw.”
