£179 A valid alternative to the lightweight helmet hegemony
The Fluxer MIPS is Sweet Protection's dedicated lightweight road helmet, sitting alongside the Norwegian brand's Falconer and Falconer Aero 2Vi MIPS. Those two score the maximum five stars in Virginia Tech's lab tests, and while the Fluxer hasn't yet been rated, Sweet Protection state that it “meets and exceeds” the EN1078 safety standard as well as the American CPSC 1203 standard. It certainly feels like it offers a high level of protection, with the deeper rear giving additional cranial coverage, and its build feeling sturdier than that of some of its lighter-weight competitors.
