Gym weights hurled from flat

A police officer was forced to dive for cover as gym weights were thrown from a third floor window onto the street.

Gary Clark, who was armed with a knife, had threatened to shoot officers if they tried to get into his Motherwell flat.

The 37-year-old appeared from custody at Hamilton Sheriff Court. He admitted threatening or abusive behaviour as well as culpable and reckless conduct in Mellor Place on August 19.

Clark was already on two bail orders at the time of the offences.

Police officers turned up around 2pm after an anonymous call about a domestic disturbance.
