LAST weekend Jac Davies was playing in front of a crowd of more than 36,000 and chasing the likes of Damian Penaud and Louis Bielle-Biarrey around the magnificent Stade Chaban-Delmas in Bordeaux.

Fast forward seven days and he will be playing for Llandovery, rather than Scarlets, in the Super Rygbi Cymru west Wales derby between Carmarthen Quins and the Drovers at Carmarthen Park.

The Investec Champions Cup may be a couple of tiers above the SRC, but the Wales U20 full back wasn’t going to miss out on the opportunity to continue his learning playing in one of the games of the season for his club side.

"With Bair Murray fit to resume for the Scarlets, Jac wasn’t required for the game in Cardiff on Friday night. But he asked us if he could play against the Quins because he wanted to be a part of the occasion," said Llandovery head coach Euros Evans.

"Given he spent the last two weeks playing Champions Cup rugby against Bristol Bears and Bordeaux-Begles, he could easily have opted out. But he badly wanted to play and we're delighted to have him.
