Major regeneration bid to transform housing estate

A massive regeneration project is planned for Penrhys, which was formerly home to the largest public sector housing scheme in Wales with more than 900 homes.

Now, Trivallis Housing Association is proposing to build 1,000 new homes over the next 10 years to replace the current properties.

The demolition of some existing buildings is already underway.

A planning application has been submitted to Rhondda Cynon Taf council for the first 123 homes which could be built in one of the first major steps forward for the project.
