Fundraising Castle to Castle swim proves to be biggest yet for RNLI

THIS year's Castle to Castle swim in Falmouth proved to be the biggest yet, attracting 552 participants.
The swim, between Pendennis Castle in Falmouth and St Mawes Castle on the Roseland peninsula, has so far raised more than £107,000 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, set to increase once all sponsorship money has been collected.
Some 120 volunteers at the event on Sunday, June 22, included RNLI lifeguards from south Cornwall, Penwith and Perranporth, surf life-saving club members from Hayle, Gyllyngvase and Falmouth, Falmouth lifeboat personnel, local boat-owners and Falmouth’s and St Mawes’ harbour masters, working both onshore and afloat to ensure the event ran smoothly and safely.
