SECOND CRACK AT EUROPE IS THE PRIZE FOR DUO
Wales on Sunday
|May 18, 2025
BOTH managers in today's JD Cymru Premier European play-off final have wonderful memories of leading their sides into the Uefa Conference League - and both want another crack next season.
To do that, Caernarfon Town, who reached the second qualifying round last summer after beating Northern Irish side Crusaders on penalties, will have to head south to Bridge Meadow and overturn Haverfordwest County on their own patch a venue at which they haven't won since 2021.
No wonder, then, that the Cofis' manager Richard Davies has been playing the 'underdog' card in the build-up, despite coming through against Barry Town United and Cardiff Met to reach the final.
"They finished highest in the league ~ they were third and we were fourth - and home advantage might be quite big for them.
But I think being underdogs suits us as well," said Davies.
"The experiences we had last year in Europe, not just qualifying but going through that first qualifier was unbelievable.
Tony Pennock led Haverfordwest back into Europe for the first time in 19 years two seasons ago and is looking to get them back there again
