Alert after man went into sea to rescue dog

RESCUERS were alerted after a man went into the sea over fears his dog was in difficulty.

The incident happened in the water off Llwyngwril in Gwynedd.
The coastguard was called after the owner was seen entering the sea to rescue his dog. They paged the Barmouth RNLI crew who were scrambled.
They were en route when they received the message to say all parties had safely made it to shore.
The owner later visited the station to offer his thanks for responding and give a donation to the RNLI.
