'Vik's always kept eyes on prize'

A MATCH made in heaven - that's how Paul Balsom describes Viktor Gyokeres switch to Arsenal and the Premier League.

Balsom (below) is the English performance manager who worked with the Swedish national team for over 25 years - and saw the young striker break into the senior side at the age of just 20.

“I've never seen a player make the kind of impact Viktor made when he first played for the national team," recalled Balsom. “He was just something completely different.

“I've never seen anything like it - the power. He was just going past people for fun.

“He has planned his whole career to perfection, and from what I've seen he and Arsenal are an absolutely great fit for each other.

“Viktor hasn’t come through the usual route to get to where he is today, but every move he has made has been for a clear purpose.
