Signed for mega bucks, now bosses can't get rid of their fallen stars on eye-watering wages & gold-plated contracts quick enough... it's going to cost 'em millions. Welcome to new season of celebrity Bargain Hunt

- BY SIMON MULLOCK

PREMIER LEAGUE clubs are facing the prospect of losing millions on big-name players they are desperate to sell as the ramifications of Profit and Sustainability Rules bite.

England internationals including Marcus Rashford, Jack Grealish, Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling are among those who have been told they are now surplus to requirements.

Teams are desperately hoping to raise transfer cash and save on superstar wages in a bid to keep the bean counters happy.

But with so many clubs now taking extra care not to overcommit financially in order to stay within PSR parameters, an increasing number of sellers must decide whether to slash asking prices or subsidise salaries.

In some cases they may have to do both.

One top agent said: "This is the time of year when most transfer deals are done - and compromises are reached to help the market to move.

"We've already seen big transfers take place at Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City - and those are likely to have a domino effect.
