Couple saving £6k a year by staying home

A MUM-OF-THREE is saving more than £6,000 a year by swapping going out for staying in with family and friends.

Claire Appleton, 42, and husband Matthew, 41, used to spend £850 a month on meals out, the pub and partying.

Now the couple invite pals and relatives over twice a month to their back garden bar - dubbed the Prosecco Palace which Claire built herself for £370.
