Reeves vows to end cycle of political decision-duckers

Chancellor Rachel Reeves has promised Mirror readers that Labour is on their side, while admitting the overhaul they voted for was never going to happen in a flash.

Writing exclusively for us, the Chancellor outlined how the government had begun righting the Tories' wrongs with a series of top trade deals. However, she conceded there is plenty more that needs to be done to get us back on track...

At the election, the British people voted for change. They did so because they sensed the country they loved was heading in the wrong direction.

I'm impatient for change to be delivered, but I have always known it was never going to happen overnight.

That's why, during our first year in power, we've focused on fixing the foundations of our economy.

We've restored economic stability, allowing the Bank of England to cut interest rates five times, with homebuyers now £1,000 better off on their mortgages than they were a year ago and firms saving money on loans.
