Dangerous driver failed to attend her trial
A WOMAN has swerved jail after hitting speeds of 70mph in a 40mph zone in a car with a doctored number plate.
Kim Warburton was convicted of dangerous driving and altering her registration plate at a trial in her absence.
North Staffordshire Justice Centre heard the 44-year-old - who has 18 previous convictions for offences including drink-driving - was caught breaking the speed limit on Leek Road on April 4.
But she failed to stop after being signalled to pull over by an unmarked police car. A short police chase ensued.
