MQAA TO HOLD SUMMER WORKSHOP ON CHUBBUCK ACTING TECHNIQUE

"Don't sit on your pain, use it for change." These were the words of American acting coach and creator of the Chubbuck Technique, Ivana Chubbuck.

Among Ivana's clients are Hollywood stars Halle Berry, Brad Pitt, Sylvester Stallone, Charlize Theron and Filipino acting coach and filmmaker Rahyan Carlos ("Shake, Rattle & Roll 8," "Pamahiin," "Ringgo: The Dog Shooter").

Direk Rahyan, who's the "only Filipino authorized to teach the prestigious Chubbuck Technique in the Philippines," will lead the MQuest Artists Agency (MQAA) Summer Workshops this May for aspiring actors and industry veterans alike using the Chubbuck Technique. The participants will also have the chance to be discovered and join the MQAA Artists Registry.

As explained by direk Rahyan during a mediacon, what sets apart the Chubbuck Technique from other acting styles developed in the past is that "it teaches actors how to use their emotions not as an end result but as a way to empower as a goal."

It is "all about using your inner work to solve, resolve and evolve, and have catharsis for both your character and yourself."
