LEO CONSUL ESTABLISHES CAREER IN PHL, JOINS ALV TALENT CIRCUIT

A Pinoy artist in Indonesia, Leo Consul is in town, not for a vacation, but for further exploration of the entertainment scene.

The actor is familiar with the territory after having worked briefly as a travel show host for a regional network and released a version of Yeng Constantino’s Ikaw (Kamu), for the Pinoy and Indonesian audiences. He has also appeared in the Prime Video series “Fit Check: Confessions of an Ukay Queen.”

Asked if he is retesting the waters this time around, Leo said in a chat with this paper, “Yes, in a way po, testing the waters in a way, but at the same time, taking a risk since parang (yung) Indonesia for 16 years naging comfort zone ko na siya (it has become my comfort zone). It’s also my biggest dream to do something in the Philippine entertainment industry.”

Like Christian Bautista, whose songs are famous in that other Southeast Asian country, Leo has established himself there as a TV host via the Indonesian versions of “Eat, Bulaga!” and “It’s Showtime” and as an actor of three small-screen series and romantic-comedy and horror films.
