EVEN as the Tata Capital initial public offering (IPO) struggled to achieve full subscription, LG Electronics India’s public issue sailed through on the first day itself, buoyed by strong investor response and favourable brokerage recommendations citing attractive valuations compared to peers.

The ₹11,607 crore IPO received 1.04 times subscription on Day 1. The issue, which closes this Thursday, has a price band of ₹1,080-₹1,140 per share, valuing the company at ₹77,400 crore at the upper end. In the grey market, LG shares are trading at about ₹1,418, indicating a 24% premium over the issue price.
