FIR against CPM MLA Mukesh in rape case

AMID growing chorus for the resignation of CPM MLA M Mukesh, Kerala police on Thursday booked the actorpolitician following the complaint of an actress from Kochi.

However, Mukesh secured interim protection from arrest from a local court.
Besides Mukesh, actor-producer Maniyanpilla Raju and actor Edavela Babu were charged with rape by the police in Kochi, while a case was filed against actor Jayasurya in Thiruvananthapuram for outraging the modesty of a woman. In all, the police filed six cases in Kochi and one in Thiruvananthapuram on the day based on the complaint of an actress who worked in Malayalam and Tamil films.
