Plans emerge for second data centre

LANS for a second data centre in Northumberland have been revealed.

While no formal application has yet been submitted, leaflets have been distributed in the West Sleek-burn area showing proposals for a new scheme just a stone’s throw from the QTS data centre site at Cambois.

The proposed site lies directly south of the River Wansbeck and north of Brock Lane, with the A189 running to the east. It is currently used for agriculture.

The leaflet, distributed by planning agent Lichfields, invites residents to have their say on the proposals. Two consultation events were held last week.
