Irvine Cricket Club slumped to defeat in their derby clash against Kilmarnock. They have just one win to their name and are currently in a Western District Union Premiership Two relegation battle with their bid for safety not being helped after throwing away a promising position in the three-wicket home loss.

Batting first, Irvine looked well-placed to post a big score but collapsed from 109-1 for 137 all out. In reply, the bowlers ensured wickets fell at regular intervals and would have fancied themselves at 100-7 only
