Traditional pub which hosts a great gig scene

THE Thistle Park Tavern has plenty going for it. Not only is it run by the 'longest-standing landlord in Plymouth, it is said to be one of the best gig venues around.

Most Fridays and Saturdays there are live bands playing at the venue on Commercial Road, near the Barbican Leisure Park. There is a huge variety of music on offer, from ska, rock to punk and more. Open from around 3pm until midnight most days, on the weekends when there is music the pub is often open till 4am.

There is plenty of room to gather and dance at the venue, and with a cosy open fire burning you can really get settled. The traditional real ale pub has lovely features, such as an original wooden floor.
