Plymouth Boxer makes light work of Thai opponent

TEENAGED welterweight Callum Dan has recorded a quickfire second win of his fledgling professional career, with a stoppage of his latest opponent inside a minute.

- By ANDY PHILLIPS

Dan, aged 16, is the youngest professional boxer in the country as he was licensed by the Thai Federation to make his debut in Thailand this month.

Following up on his first win, Dan took on Sittikorn Treenit at the World Siam Stadium in Bangkok on Thursday, and left his opponent on the canvas inside a minute.

The stocky Treenit, who had only one professional contest under his belt, gamely came forward from the first bell and threw plenty of punches in an effort to catch the Plymouth man out.

But Dan proved to have a maturity beyond his years and smartly kept the Thai opponent at bay with a series of jabs, before counter-punching.

Treenit took a series of heavy blows and ended up on the canvas after a left hook, which he failed to recover from.
