ASHBY-HAMMOND COULD BE OFFERED A DEAL
CONVERSATIONS were set to take place yesterday between Tom Cleverley and his coaching staff over the future of trialist goalkeeper Luca Ashby-Hammond and whether to offer him a contract.
It is an important decision because it looks increasingly likely that Conor Hazard will miss the start of the season due to a knee ligament injury he suffered when playing for Northern Ireland in their 2-1 summer friendly defeat against Denmark in early June.
Ashby-Hammond, 24, has played twice in preseason for the Pilgrims, firstly when he conceded a bizarre own goal in the 1-0 defeat by German Bundesliga 2 side Eintracht Braunschweig after miscuing an intended pass and instead sending the ball into the net.
