SUPPORTING PUPILS AND WIDER COMMUNITY
A PLYMOUTH school held a welcome event to launch a groundbreaking new partnership with The Salvation Army, which aims to offer support to children who attend the school, as well as their families and the wider Stonehouse community.
Pilgrim Primary Academy, which lies adjacent to Western Approach. held a launch event on Friday, September 19, welcoming The Salvation Army Plymouth Barbican team as partners and residents into the school.
Pupils at the school were provided with a free meal prior to the launch event, which also saw community groups invited, including Transforming Plymouth Together, The Oasis Project, Community Builders, Safe Families, The Plymouth Community Dental Service and Employment Plus.
The partnership will see The Salvation Army team work alongside the school’s parent support advisor delivering welfare and wellbeing support at a school level, as well as offering a wide range of free services available across Plymouth.
