Probation staff 'committed, but improvements needed'

PROBATION services in Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland continue to require improvement, despite "unwavering" commitment by staff.

An inspection found two-thirds of probation cases did not have effective management oversight.
The majority of employees spoken to during the inspection in June of the local delivery unit by His Majesty's Inspectorate of Probation described workloads as "unmanageable".
