Anchor's away as pub gets ready to open

THE latest Wetherspoon pub is set to open on Teesside next week just in time for festive celebrations.

The Red Anchor, will open on the site of the former Brewers Fayre at Preston Farm Industrial Estate on Wednesday, December 10 - following a development project costing £1million.
The pub's name refers to the shipbuilding history of the local area. Ropner's shipbuilding company was on the north shore of the River Tees, where there were several smaller yards.
