NEW Hartlepool boss Nicky Featherstone is expecting a quick response from his side after a rare home defeat in his first game as permanent manager.

The Pools stalwart had enjoyed an overwhelmingly successful spell as interim boss following the departure of Simon Grayson, as a seven-game unbeaten run led his side into contention for a National League playoff place.

That run saw Featherstone named as permanent manager - but a 2-0 defeat at home to Yeovil got Featherstone’s permanent reign off on a low.

A goal in each half from Aaron Jarvis and Luke McCormick helped the visitors claim all three points at the Prestige Group Stadium.
