Funding request formarina project

Councillors will be asked to approve additional funding to advance the Stranraer Marina project to the crucial Full Business Case (FBC) stage at a full council meeting today.

The project, a cornerstone of the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal, requires further investment to complete detailed design and gain necessary approvals, paving the way for its delivery.

The total projected cost to reach the FBC milestone is now £4.967 million. This represents an increase from the previously approved £3.26 million.

The additional funding is essential to cover costs arising from in-depth design development, extensive ground investigation works and professional fees necessary to ensure the project is robust and deliverable.
