Mayor agrees with council's call for audit of CCMC construction

Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival Sr welcomes the call of the City Council for a thorough audit of the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) project, considering that the absence of an as-built plan in the Phase 4 construction already raises a red flag.

Councilor Nyza Archival earlier delivered a privilege speech in the council where she highlighted the importance of transparency and accountability in what she described as a critical and long-overdue infrastructure project of the city.

In line with this, the council approved a motion calling upon various engineering, architecture, and technical experts to lead the review of the flagged construction.

Mayor Archival, for his part, said the council’s move supports his earlier statement, halting the CCMC project construction after the Department of Engineering and Public Works (DEPW) found it has no as-built plans.

“Kay ang mga nahuman nga Phase 1, Phase 2 nga mga contractors, wala ma’y as-built plans, wala man ta’y plano nga nagsulti nga mao ni ang nahuman namo,” said the mayor.
