3 fires in one night

In just one night, three fire incidents that reached a second alarm broke out in separate areas in Cebu yesterday, Wednesday, December 10, which one, was believed to have been caused by faulty wiring.

The first incident was reported around 5:30 p.m. in Barangay Labangon, Cebu City, where at least 47 individuals from 13 families were displaced.

Based on the initial investigation of the Cebu City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire was immediately raised to first alarm at 5:34 p.m. and to second alarm at 5:45 p.m. It was declared under control at around 5:53 p.m. and fully extinguished at 6:02 p.m.

During the assessment conducted, it was found that the blaze engulfed about 480 square meters and burned down at least 12 houses along A. Lopez Extension, Balaga Drive, in the said barangay.

At least eight houses were destroyed, while four were partially damaged. No casualties were reported. In a report, fire authorities in Cebu City confirmed that the fire caused an estimated damage of P720,000.
