Local travel boom offsets declining foreign arrivals

Cebu’s hospitality sector is increasingly turning to the domestic travel market to offset moderating foreign arrivals, leveraging exhibitions and discounted stay packages to sustain occupancy and revenue growth.
The World Travel Expo Cebu 2025, staged this month at Ayala Center Cebu by Ad Asia Events Group OPC, drew more than 60 exhibitors from the travel and tourism sector, reflecting Cebu’s growing role as a hub for leisure spending.
“Travel fairs allow us to engage directly with Filipino travelers who are eager for affordable and convenient staycations,” said Miles Caballero, managing director of Ad Asia Events.
