City to demolish old COA fence

The Cebu City government will be the one to demolish an old fence belonging to the Commission on Audit (COA) Region 7 found to encroach on the city’s three-meter easement zone along the Estero de Parian.

This assurance was given by Mayor Nestor Archival to COA audit team leader Peter Jay Geniston and supervising auditor Rhoda Morales during a meeting last Friday.

The COA compound, located in Barangay Tinago, is among the structures identified by the city’s Task Force Gubat sa Baha under the administration of then Mayor Mike Rama as non-compliant with the easement regulation.

Aside from COA, another national government agency, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and the Tinago Barangay Hall were also tagged with violating the three-meter easement.
