Cebu leaders called to act on power security

As Cebu prepares for a political transition following the May 12 national and local elections, a leading energy rights group has called on newly elected officials to address growing concerns on power reliability and infrastructure.

The Cebu Electricity Rights Advocates (CERA), a non-profit watchdog focused on energy equity and sustainability, has urged Mayor-elect Nestor Archival and Governor-elect Pam Baricuatro to place the development of Cebu’s local power systems at the forefront of their administration agendas.

Archival, an electrical engineer by profession and longtime environmental advocate, brings technical experience to his new role as Cebu City Mayor.
