Boljoon farmers receive P40M project from NIA

The National Irrigation Administration Bohol-Cebu-Siquijor Irrigation Management Office (NIA BCSIMO – Cebu Office) inaugurated and turned over the P40-million Baluno Pump Irrigation Project to the farmers of Upper Becerril, Boljoon, Cebu.

The project, funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) through the Expanded Government Program for Irrigation Projects (EGPIP), is designed to irrigate 100 hectares of farmland, directly benefiting 100 farmer-members of the Kapunya Farmers Irrigators Association Inc., led by their President Mercedita Cayude.
NIA-7 said the system is expected to provide a more stable water supply, leading to improve crop yields and enhanced agricultural productivity in the area.
