Ben&Ben shares 'interdimensional' healing journey in Cebu concert

After releasing their third and latest album, “The Traveller Across Dimensions,” last November, Ben&Ben is bringing the record’s narrative to life on a grander scale through an immersive live tour.
What began as a one-night concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena last December has expanded into a tour, kicking off in Cebu City at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino last May 24.
Inspired by the nine-member band’s life experiences, the concept album follows the story of a traveler named “Liwanag” as she journeys across different dimensions in search of inner peace.
Along the way, she encounters bliss, pain, and epiphany (in that order), manifested through the characters she meets: her mentor Gabay; her antagonist Dilim, a projection of her darkest thoughts; her loyal dog companion Puhon, who guides her out of despair: and her soulmate Mahiwaga, who teaches her that letting go may be the final step to healing.
One of the Benjamin twins, Paolo Guico, explained the tour’s premise. “This story is based on our collective experiences as humans. We discovered, we suffered, we learned, healed, and self-reflected. As you listen to our songs and these themes, I hope you reflect on your life. Hopefully, this concert helps you heal whatever you’re going through tonight.”
As the band performs on stage, the visuals of Liwanag’s journey — animated by Puppeteer Animation Studios — are played on screen.
