Amit Shah Begins Three-Day Visit To J&K

Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Jammu on Sunday evening for a crucial three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, his first since the formation of the Omar Abdullah-led National Conference government in October last year.
Shah was received at the technical airport by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and senior BJP leaders. Security agencies have been placed on high alert across the Union Territory in view of the high-profile visit.
Soon after his arrival, Shah was scheduled to head to the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar to chair a meeting of party MLAs and office bearers. His visit also coincided with the 46th Foundation Day of the BJP, celebrated earlier in the day across Jammu and Kashmir.
