Ashley Webb, 31, first spotted the rodents at her home near Hayle last year.

She said they caused so much damage that the housing association which manages her property had to replace her entire kitchen, moving her into alternative accommodation while it did so - but they had returned last week.

Miss Webb, who works as a cleaner and keeps her property clean and tidy, said of the first invasion: "I've got pictures of the rats sat on my washing machine, running around my sink, running around my worktops.

"There was one on top of my boiler cupboard, they'd left faeces in my son's toy box and they'd been around my carpet in my living room.

"On Saturday morning they were even in my bedroom. It had gone through my living room door, up my stairs and made its way into my bedroom while I was asleep."
