'Exciting times' for Dan as Tinners go full time
The Cornishman
|June 26, 2025
GOALKEEPER Dan Lavercombe says it's an "exciting time" to be a Truro City player after signing a full-time contract with the National League club.
Truro pipped Lavercombe's former team Torquay United to the National South title last season, to take the one automatic promotion spot and become the first team from Cornwall to reach Step 1 of the non-league pyramid.
Lavercombe, 28, is one of a series of players who have re-signed for the club and he is now looking forward to the new season, with the club going full time in order to tackle the challenges of the new level.
"I'm very happy and it is an exciting time to be at Truro after what happened last year," Lavercombe told trurocity.co.uk. "We are the first Cornish team to play in the National League, so I am looking forward to next year.
"Next year will be a big step up and the league we are going in will be a lot tougher, but we have a few lads that have played higher, so we will need everyone to move forward to pull through."
