Celebrations for local nurse who has devoted 50 years to working for NHS

A NURSE has been honoured for her 50 years of service to the NHS.
Trish Gwennap celebrates 50 years with the NHS in a special event with her colleagues
Trish Gwennap's colleagues surprised her with cake, flowers and a long-service certificate from the NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board in recognition of her half-century working for the NHSincluding 43 years at West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance.
"I'm totally blown away," she said. "I had no idea this was happening; it's amazing.
"It's been an honour to serve this community. I've had the most amazing career, and I love coming to work every day."
Trish’s career in healthcare began in 1975 when she took a job as a domestic at St Michael's Hospital in Hayle.
