That was thanks to a magnificent knock by young Camborne skipper Alfie MacDonald.
He came to the crease after Dan Stephens (48) completed an opening stand of 106 with Josh Fontana (55). MacDonald hit seven sixes in his 95 off 81 balls before being run out.
Needing 249, a shell-shocked Hayle were rolled over for 112 with Dan Lello making 35. Dan Hocking and Piran Moyle shared six wickets.
Beacon took advantage to move to the top, but it was a close run thing at Newquay.
