LATIN and Afro-Caribbean band Kizamba’s upcoming gig at the Acorn in Penzance will be raising money to help victims of the devastating Hurricane Melissa - witnessed firsthand by one of the band’s members.

Charity gig to raise funds for Hurricane Melissa victims

Lead singer Kat Carr was born in Jamaica and was there when the hurricane swept in on October 28, bringing winds of more than 150mph and causing catastrophic damage in which dozens of people lost their lives.

Now the eight-piece band has decided to use its performance on December 10 to support Cornish disaster relief charity ShelterBox.
