Residents urged to support marathon event and runners

ORGANISERS of the Chester half marathon are hoping residents will turn out to support runners.

Seven thousand runners are due to take part in the event on Sunday while organisers will be celebrating a valuable partnership that has brought so much to the event.
"The 43rd running of the event marks the 10th anniversary of ESSAR becoming our title sponsor," says event co-founder Chris Hulse.
"In that time Essar have contributed so much to make the event what it is today and that is massively appreciated by us as organisers and the runners themselves."
Deepak Maheshwari, chief executive of Essar Energy Transition Fuels, said: "We care about the people and places where we work so we are proud to partner with Active Leisure and support this great local event for the 10th year running."
Local people are invited to come out to support the runners and add to the buzzing race day atmosphere.
