SEXTON SPAT LAID TO REST AS RUSSELL SAYS: WE GET ON SO WELL AND HE'S A HUGE HELP

- BY ADAM HATHAWAY

It's a Finn romance

FINN RUSSELL has buried the hatchet with Johnny Sexton - but reckons he never had real beef with the Irish legend anyway.

Sexton, an assistant coach with the British & Irish Lions, and Russell shook hands on Monday when the Scotsman joined the tourists in Dublin after Bath's Premiership celebrations.

The Irishman used his recent autobiography to describe the fly-half as "flashy" and not a Test-match animal like Owen Farrell, but Lions boss Andy Farrell negotiated a truce.

But Russell insists he never had a gripe and is tapping into Sexton's knowledge of how to win in Australia - which the former Lions star did in 2013.

Russell said: "It's just a bit of a craic I suppose - it was never a thing. When we came in, we had a laugh straight away and Andy put it to bed, so that was good.
