BEES GOT TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE IN IRISH STAR... WORLD-CLASS KEEPER AND A STRIKER, AS EX-COACH SAYS: BLOND ASSASSIN COULD SCORE FROM ANYWHERE

- BY RICHARD EDWARDS

BRENTFORD have snapped up one of the Premier League's best young goalkeepers.

And if they are short of firepower this season, they could probably do worse than hand Caoimhin Kelleher a chance up front, too.

Because the 26-year-old is very much an accidental keeper and was known as the Blond Assassin back home in Ireland for good reason.

Sean Fitzgerald, secretary at Ringmahon Rangers and Kelleher's coach before he headed across the Irish Sea to Merseyside, said: "He could score goals from anywhere.

"He was a striker from our Under-6 team to the U14s. He was the Blond Assassin. He was fantastic. He would play up an age group as a striker.

"He scored so many goals, he was very, very good. I think that helped him when he went in goal because he thought as a striker, even when he switched.
