COUPLE WEIGHING IN WITH RECIPE FOR HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

A ROLY poly pair have eaten their way to better health after losing almost 15st between them.

Karen and Martin Cooper buckled down to shedding the stones after health scares led them to a fresh start.

Martin had already suffered two pulmonary embolisms and Karen had a pituitary brain tumour before they met in 2006, but in the years that followed, both piled on the pounds, with Martin reaching 23st 5lbs and Karen 13st 6lbs.

Nurse Karen decided enough was enough in August 2020, and joined her local Slimming World group, along with Martin.

The Halesowen couple have lost almost 15st, with Karen now 9st 6lb and Martin 12st 12lb.

"My uniform and role is so important to me and gradually moving up the uniform sizes had become a way of hiding my increased weight gain," said Karen.
