CAVANN SIBEKO (PART 2)

- By Zola Doda

Shakes, it’s great talking to you again. Last week we ended our conversation about your former teammate Themba Mnguni, who was asked by coach Pitso Mosimane to stop driving his convertible car at 02h00AM. Where do we start this week?

Thanks a lot for having me again. But before we continue with SuperSport United, let me tell you a story about what happened when Orlando Pirates went to Nigeria to play against Enyimba FC in the CAF Champions League. Our then teammate Onyekachi Okonkwo is also from Nigeria, so he offered to take us to his house after the match.

Onyekachi offered to take you and Pirates players to his house without you guys even asking?

Yes, he did and we were all excited that we were going to go out after the match and just to see where our teammate lived in Nigeria. He said he was going to host us in his big house. We went to Nigeria, played the match and beat Enyimba. But as we were travelling to the stadium before the match, we were all surprised about why Okonkwo was carrying a large suitcase because after the match we were going to go to his house. So we were wondering why he was carrying a big suitcase. After the match, we were supposed to go back to the hotel, shower and then go to his house. Guess what happened? Ha, ha, ha, as the bus was taking us to the hotel, Okonkwo was at the door next to the bus driver and when the bus stopped, this man, grabbed his bag, jumped off the bus and ran into an alleyway, gone, ha, ha, ha.

South Americans are very fragile

Last weekend we saw Orlando Pirates make history by becoming the first Carling Knockout champions to beat the All-Stars team, after both Magesi FC and Stellenbosch FC failed to do so in the previous two seasons. Pirates were forced to play without several of their regulars as they are in camp in preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations. Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou's charges beat coach Manqoba Mngqithi's team 2-0 to be crowned champions, for the second time in a week. Congratulations to Bucs as they close the year on a high note.
