had experience with several players that I sent there initially. It's quite traumatic - climatically, culturally, language-wise - and so many other challenges. But it does obviously mean that they must make certain sacrifices,” he added.
“I think for younger players and older players, it's always attractive for them to get an opportunity to play in Europe. It just opens up other opportunities,” he concluded.
While Khan was happy about the growing list of exports, he believes that there is room to improve it.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for South Africans to create a business model around player export. If you look at the fact that players in Europe get paid in Euros, so do clubs when they export players to Europe,” he said.
“You asked about the fact that how can we improve it. It's very simple - Start investing in development structures that produce results.”
Khan revealed that Stars of Africa Academy produced 10 South African products including Tokelo Rantie and May Mahlangu, doing so without a sponsor. He was excited about the potential growth.

South Americans are very fragile
Last weekend we saw Orlando Pirates make history by becoming the first Carling Knockout champions to beat the All-Stars team, after both Magesi FC and Stellenbosch FC failed to do so in the previous two seasons. Pirates were forced to play without several of their regulars as they are in camp in preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations. Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou's charges beat coach Manqoba Mngqithi's team 2-0 to be crowned champions, for the second time in a week. Congratulations to Bucs as they close the year on a high note.
